ABSTRACT
Most of the heavy metals are toxic to many fresh water organisms and man. These are proved to be harmful and insidious pollutants because of their non biodegradable nature. A study was undertaken to assess the variation in some of the heavy metal contents of Amba River water near Pali. In the present communication it was found that the concentration of heavy metals viz. Cu, Cr, Zn, and Pb near to Pali of Amba River exceeds the permissible limit; whereas Cd and Ni were below the permissible limits.
