ABSTRACT
Nanomaterials are at leading edge of rapidly developing field of nanotechnology. Their unique size dependent properties make them material superior and indispensable in many areas. Nanoparticles made from solid lipids, the so‐called solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) and nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) are colloidal lipid systems, which have been proposed for several administration routes, such as parenteral, oral and topical route providing controlled release profile of many substances. Many limitations were solved by creating a lipid particle with a controlled nanostructure i.e. the nanostructure lipid carrier (NLC). NLCs possess lower melting point due to their oil content, while maintaining their particulate character and being solid at body temperature, greater degree of drug loading, reduced burst release of drug and better control of drug release. The present work involves Formulation and Evaluation of Nano Structured Lipid Carrier of Naltrexone Hydrochloride by microemulsion method. NLC were prepared by Naltrexone Hydrochloride, Compritol 888 ATO, Precirol ATO 5, Tween 80, Stearic acid. Naltrexone hydrochloride were successfully formulated and evaluated. Each formulation contains 10mg of Naltrexone hydrochloride. Formulations were tested for Particle size, Polydispersity, Drug content, Drug entrapment efficiency and % drug release. The size of particles was found to very between 124.72 to 682.83 and 281 nm whereas the Polydispersity index assumed values between 0.363 to 0.690.
