A CLINICAL STUDY OF KLAIBYA (MALE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION) W.S.R. TO HYPERTENSION BY A HERBAL FORMULATION

ABSTRACT Klaibya (Male Sexual Dysfunction = MSD) is common among men of all ages, it has been recently estimated that in 1995 more than 152 million men worldwide experienced sexual dysfunction and this number will rise, to approximately 322 million by the year 2025. As it is obvious, sexual dysfunction affects both men and women. Sexual dysfunction has been considered of psychogenic origin since ancient times; however, it is currently believed to be a disease of organic (mainly vascular) etiology in the majority of cases. In the past years, it has been reported that most of the hypertensive patients who have disability to perform sexual acts included under MSD. Hence considering above facts the present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the Gokshuradi Vati in the management of Klaibya with or without Hypertension. The assessments were based on the scoring of International Index of Erectile Function Questionnaire (IIEF) and JNC -VII guidelines and lab investigations. Total 68 patients were screened using IIEF-15 for the diagnosis of Klaibya and JNC-7 for diagnosis of Hypertension. Out of them 60 patient were treated with Gokshuradi Vati with the anupana of Gokshura Kwatha for the period of 30 days. The result showed statistically significant improvement in high blood pressure. Beside these, highly significant improvement found in sperm count, serum testosterone level and IIEF-15 variables. Keywords: Gokshuradi Vati , IIEF, JNV-7, Klaibya, Male Sexual Dysfunction.
