CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON GRAHANI ROGA WITH PATHYAPATH AND YOG

ABSTRACT
Grahani is the site of Agni which is so called because of its power to restrain the downwards movement of undigested food and retains food till it is fully digested. Functionally weak Agni (mandaagni) causes improper digestion of food which leads to Amadosha and it has pivotal importance in the pathogenesis of Grahani roga. Grahani is a critical disease of great clinical relevance in modern era because of its direct link with improper food habits and stressful lifestyle. The principle of diet for all types of Grahani boost the Agni and reduce Ama with the help of Ahara which should be kashaya ,madhur and katu in rasa, lagu,
ruksha, deepan and pachan in guna, ushna in veerya, or madhur in vipaka. This diet and yoga stimulate the agni which support the digestion of food.
