PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES ON ZANTHOXYLUM ARMATUM- A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Timur is a a whole part of the tree Zanthoxylum armatum (Rutaceae) present indigenously all around the subtropic vellies of Himachal Pradesh. This plant has considered as a holy plant in surrounding areas. The plant is used as a folklore medicine for teeth and several other ailment. Moreover, several researchers has reported different researches on the plant by using its different extracts. The plant is having such usefull medicnal values even than its destruction has also been observed as the plant is a thorny bush and to burn for cooking fuel. This should be stoped to mprotect the loss of this valuable plant. by considering the medicinal values of the Zanthoxylum armatum, the present study has been focused to underline its pharmacological activities.
