COMPARATIVE IN VITRO STUDY OF PARACETAMOL TABLETS SOLD IN PHARMACIES ALTAIF CITY KSA

ABSTRACT
Objective: The study was carried out to evaluate the quality of Paracetamol tablets sold in retail pharmacies in Al Taif city KSA. Methods: The study was done for three different brands of Paracetamol obtained from different pharmacies in Taif city, KSA . The physicochemical properties of the tablets were evaluated by some tests in quality control laboratories of pharmaceutics department college of pharmacy Taif university, namely: uniformity of weight, thickness and diameter, friability, dissolution test and disintegration test and uniformity of content. Results: We found that all the three different manufacturing brands comply with British pharmacopeia
(BP) requirements. Conclusion: All the three brands of the Paracetamol tablets evaluated in this study could be regarded as being therapeutic equivalent to.
