OBSERVATIONS OF COMPETITIVE PLANT SPECIES AND BIOLOGICAL CONTROL AGENT OF PARTHENIUM (PARTHENIUM HYSTEROPHORUS L.) AT KADA DIST. BEED

ABSTRACT
Parthenium weed was first reported India in 1966 but now it has spread in every type of land. Mainly it is a weed of road side, waste land and non-cropped areas but now it has also entered in cropped land. The obsrvations on botanical and biological control agents in kada region June 2014 to September 2016revealed that the competitive plant like Cassia uniflora, Tephrosiapurpureaand Cynodondactylonwas found maximum control the growth of parthenium weed and it was also found Zygogrammabicolorata which feed parthenium the plant gets dried up. And also observed Xanthium strumarium is a potential alternative source for the survival of partheniumbettle.
