Abstract

CHEMICAL EVALUATION OF SHUDHA GANDHAKA

ABSTRACT

Gandhaka is a important Rasadravya grouped under Uparasa in Rasashastra text. It is used along with other drugs in several disorder like skin disorder, Debility, and as a Rejuvinator etc. Before using, Gandhaka should undergo purification to remove impurities in it. After purification it was analysed to know the chemical constituents. It was found that purified or Shudha Gandhaka consist of carbhohydrates, fat, calcium, magnesium and vitamins.
