ABSTRACT
The rapid development of nanotechnology provides alternatives approaches to overcomes the limitations of conventional therapy. Nanotechnology based oro-dispersible film are the functionalized nanoparticles to advance their transport to eliminating the endosomal transport time and help in rapid targeting dedicated site by sublingually route Oro-dispersible drug delivery system (ODDDS) has acquired an important position in the market by overcoming previously encountered administration problems. Oro-dispersible film has a unique capability to rapid/instant disintegration/ dissolving and releasing the drug as film comes in contact with saliva. The aim of this study was to develop nanotechnology based oro-dispersible film of meclizine by using the different superdisintegrent like croscarmellose
sodium, crosspovidone and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and glycerin used as plasticizer. Film was prepared using solvent casting method. Prepared nanotechnology based film evaluated for the transparency, homogeneity, folding endurance, peeling from Petri dish, tensile strength, thickness, surface pH study, mechanical properties, uniformity of drug content and In-vitro release study. The film containing crosspovidone showed the effective release within 5- 10 min.
