ABSTRACT
Coordination complexes using Copper surfactants with bio-potent nitrogen and sulphur donor ligands in a M: L (1:2) molar ratio of the type Cu2(C15H31COO)4L2 and Cu2(C7H15COO)4L2 where L is 2-amino 6-bromo Benzothiazoles were synthesised. The characterization and nature of bonding of these complexes were elucidated by elemental analysis, melting point, molecular weight, spectral analysis namely 1H NMR, IR spectra, ESR and Mass studies. Plant growth regulatory activity on Seeds of the Mung bean (Vigna radiata) has been studied using standard Blotter method for the evaluation of the inhibitory/stimulatory effects of the synthesised complexes.
Comparative plant growth analysis was made by measurement of parameters like percentage of germination, seedling height, shoot length, root length, root/shoot ratio and width of young leaf. Depending on the synergy between the ligand and ion the effect on Plant Growth Regulatory Activity is observed.
