EFFECT OF AGING ON DHATU AND MALA

ABSTRACT
Aging is the natural physiological process of life includes progressive physiological changes in various organs of body. According to aacharya Charaka and Ashtangsangrakar old age changes start at the age of 60 year while Sushruta and Vagbhata say at the age of 70 year. Parihani (~ degenerated) start at the age of 40 year given in Sushruta samhita. The proposed study aims to describe various physiological (sharirkriyatmak) changes occur in the rasadi saptdhatu and mala of the body. Through the critical analysis of the literature it was found that dhatu and mala degenerated by aging.
