ANTIDIABETIC ACTIVITY OF MEDICINAL PLANT EXTRACTS IN ALBINO RATS

ABSTRACT
Traditional Medicines derived from medicinal plants are used by about 70% of the world’s population. Herbal drugs used and provide a list of medicinal herb used in ayurveda as antidiabetic and also of marketed preparations for prevention of diabetes mellitus, especially in India. Herbal medicines have been highly esteemed source of medicine throughout the human history. Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common non-communicable diseases globally. Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by high blood sugar (glucose) levels that result from defects in insulin secretion, or action, or both. Aim of the present study is evaluated Streblus asper medicinal plant used for anti diabetic activity.
