FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF DRY SYRUP WITH COMBINATION OF DRUGS CETIRIZINE HYDROCHLORIDE AND CHLORAMPHENICOL
Prabhat Dessai* and Neha K. Sawant
ABSTRACT
The objective of the present study was to develop dry suspensions for reconstitution like Chloramphenicol and Cetirizine HCl using powder blends techniques. No commercial product available in combined dosage form. Reconstitutable oral suspension show adequate chemical stability of the drug during shelf life, avoids the physical stability problems. These are dry mixture that requires the addition of water at the time of dispensing. The dry syrup granules were prepared by using wet granulation method using Acacia gum, tragacanth, sodium CMC and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose. The prepared syrups were evaluated for flow properties, content uniformity test, sedimentation behavior and in-vitro drug release.
Keywords: Chloramphenicol, Cetirizine HCl, Acacia gum.
