Abstract

INVESTIGATING REASONS OF REFERRING TO PRIVATE HOSPITALS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CHILDBIRTH SERVICES AND COMPARING TO GOVERNMENTAL HOSPITALS IN MEDICAL SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF SHIRAZ- 2015

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The reason of choosing private or governmental hospitals is an issue that we cannot look it only by an aspect and it needs a critical reflection, especially for a pregnant woman and her family, choosing hospital to receiving childbirth services is one of the main businesses. In this study according to last two years of executing evolution plan in health system, concepts of custodians in hygiene and treatment of Medical Sciences University of Shiraz have been received about referring to governmental or private hospitals in order to receive childbirth services. Methodology: This study in its method and type is geodesic and descriptive-functional which was done in staff of Medical Sciences University of Shiraz and by using a performed questionnaire that was distributed by ration and random. Sample sizes have estimated 331 and analyzing and relation between variables performed by methods of illative statistics, Chi2, Fisher, Spearman tests on SPSS19 software. Findings: While according to received statistics from the last childbirth in sizes of studied family 62% of childbirths have done by caesarean and 38% by natural birth, in a performed poll of this sample size and in a rotation it is obviously specified that only 33% of people were compliant with caesarian and remaining 67% were compliant with natural childbirth and we should believe this attitude as a good concept. Tendency to private hospitals in each condition (caesarian and natural childbirth) is more than governmental hospitals and 78% of people were compliant with referring to private hospitals in order to receiving childbirth services and only 22% of people were compliant with referring to governmental hospitals. According to prioritizing effective factors in choosing hospital, the most priorities according to personnel of University in size of selective sample and governmental hospitals were related to following factors: 1.quality of treatment services 2.rate of income 3.skilled nursing cadre and in private hospitals: 1.more access to therapeutic doctor 2.access to skilled therapeutic doctor 3.condition of hygiene and pureness. Conclusion: According to more tendency of personnel in natural childbirth and existence of meaningful relation between type of childbirth and hospital, if the capacity and facilities of governmental system increase according to needs of society and necessary training performs about proper interference and accountability of personnel, we can expect that many applicants of private hospital will be attracted by governmental hospitals. We can proceed to buying services from non-governmental section by insurer organizations according to these capacities in private section.
