ABSTRACT
In the present investigation, series of 1-(3-substituted-5-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)ethanones have been designed and synthesized by condensation reaction of chalcones and hydrazine hydrate in acetic acid, which resulted in formation of N-acetyl pyrazoline derivatives. All the synthesized compounds were tested for their in vitro antimicrobial as well as antifungal activity. Among the synthesized compounds, only compounds 10, 12 and 15 demonstrated more potent antimicrobial activity against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus and S. pyogenus. All compounds were found to be good to excellent active against E. coli.
Keywords: E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus and S. pyogenus.
