EVALUATION OF BROOK BOND RED LABEL NATURAL CARE TEA FOR ITS QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE ESTIMATION

ABSTRACT
Tea is most widely consumed beverage, but less information is available regarding the evaluation of marketed tea powder. The present study was aimed to evaluate the marketed tea powder Brook Bond Red Label Natural Care Tea (BBRLNC) was procured from local market. The label claim to contain the medicinal plants such as tulsi, ashwagandha, ginger, cardamom and liquorice along with tea leaves. By keeping this in mind this paper focus on the qualitative and quantitative estimation of the BBRLNC tea powder. The total carbohydrate content, protein content, amino acid content, total tannins content, total phenolic content, total flavonoids content and antioxidant content were determined.
