FORMATION OF SOME NOVEL ACID AZO DYES: SYNTHESIS CHARACTERISATION AND APPLICATION PROPERTIES:II

ABSTRACT
Novel acid azo dyes were prepared by the coupling of diazo solutions
of 4-Chloroaniline with 1-(4-N-acetyl amino) 2-methyl phenyl - 2-
chloro ethanone. Then resultant product were hydrolysis by refluxing
with ethanol containing HCl for 4-5 hours. The coupling compound
of various aromatic acid R1-R6 with above diazonium salt solution.
The resultant dyes were characterized by elemental analyses as well as
IR spectral studies. The UV-visible spectral data have also been
discussed in terms of structural property relationship. The dyeing
assessment of all the dyes was evaluated on wool and polyester textile
fibers.
