ABSTRACT
The fibroma is the most common benign soft tissue tumour of connective tissue origin found in the oral cavity. Most fibromas represent reactive fibrous hyperplasias due to trauma or local irritation as a common etiological factor. It is also termed as fibroepithelial polyp or fibrous hyperplasia or traumatic or irritational fibroma. It is most commonly seen in gingiva, buccal mucosa, lips, tongue and rarely in hard palate. Our case report presents a 36year old male patient with asymptomatic growth in the hard palate. Conservative surgical excision was performed and no recurrences of the lesion since 1year follow up.
Keywords: benign soft tissue tumour, connective tissue, palate, fibroepithelial polyp.
