ABSTRACT
Formulation of Diltiazem hydrochloride matrix Granule is formulated by wet granulation technique. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; HPMC K4M, HPMC K15M, HPMC K100M , are used to prepare the granules Na-carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC) and ethyl cellulose were added to alter the drug release profile prepared granules can be evaluated by Preformulation parameters, granules density, taped density, angle of repose and in vitro drug release profile and release kinetics. The formulations were found to have good Preformulation characteristics. The release mechanism of Diltiazem hydrochloride matrix granules indicated anomalous (non-Fickian) transport mechanism in the scanning the sample FTIR spectroscopy shows the absence of any significant chemical interaction within dug and excipient and DSC studies profile revealed the presence of other excipient did not affect the drug nature and was well maintained in the selected formulation.
