ABSTRACT
Drypetus roxburgii is traditionally used in various diseases because of its medicinal properties. The aim was to evaluate the skeletal muscle relaxant activity of the aqueous extract and Ethanol extract of leaves of Drypetes roxburgii in comparison with diazepam. The ethanol and aqueous extract of the leaf of plant Drypetes roxburgii was given in Swiss Albino Mice at a dose of 500 mg/kg body weight. Skeletal muscle relaxant activity was assessed by using rota rod apparatus and inclined phase model. The results are promising for further investigation for efficient skeletal muscle relaxant activity.
Keywords: rota rod apparatus, inclined phase model, Drypetus roxburgii, Albino.
