PREVALENCE OF ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE IN STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS
S. M. Belani* and B. J. Wadher
ABSTRACT
Prevalence of antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus was
studied and a total of 252 different clinical specimens were
investigated with a yield of 114 Staphylococcus aureus isolates.
Maximum number of isolates were obtained from Pus (n=40) while
high antibiotic resistance was recorded against Penicillin (84.21%).
High percentage resistance for different antibiotics could be correlated
to their widespread usage and misuse within the particular
environment.
