Abstract

SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF SOME NEW 1,3,4-THIADIAZINES FROM CARBONOTHIOIC DIHYDRAZIDE

ABSTRACT

Ethyl 5-(1-(2-(6-(2-arylhydrazono)-5-methyl-6H-1,3,4-thiadiazin-2-yl)hydrazono) ethyl)-4-methyl-2-(phenylamino)thiophene-3-carboxylate were synthesized via reaction of hydrazonoyl chlorides with ethyl 5-(1-(2-(hydrazinecarbonothioyl)hydrazono)ethyl)-4-methyl-2-(phenylamino)thiophene-3-carboxylate in ethanol containing triethylamine. Structures of the newly synthesized compounds were elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis, spectral data and alternative synthetic route whenever possible. Also, newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activity against various microorganisms.
