ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to develop an UV spectrophotometric method for estimation of midodrine hydrochloride in bulk and tablets. First order derivative spectrophotometric method has been developed at wavelength 302.0 nm. Linearity was observed in the concentration range of 19.98-99.90 μg/ml. Low values of % RSD for intra-day and inter-day precision suggested reproducibility of the method. Satisfactory values of percent recovery indicated accuracy of the method. Sensitivity of the method was proved by low value of limit of detection and limit of quantitation. An assay result of marketed tablets was found to be 98.69%. The result suggest that the proposed methods were found to be cost effective, sensitive, precise and accurate and hence can be successfully applied for the routine analysis of Midodrine
Hydrochloride in bulk and tablets.
