FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF ACETAMINOPHEN AND DIPHENHYDRAMINE HCl RAPID RELEASE GELCAPS

ABSTRACT

In all the routes of drug administration oral route of administration is a widely used because of more acceptance by the patients and ease of administration with out any assistance of technical person inspite of all the advantages of oral administration of tablets swallowing is the main problem facing by the patients, so in order to increase swallobility, to bring unique appearance and to gain brand value gelcaps were developed. gelcaps are nothing but tablet in the shape of a capsule that is caplet encapsulated by a gelatine shells on both sides leaving a gap between two shells known as Xpress fit or not leaving a gap between the two shells known as press fit. The present study aims at formulation and evaluation of acetaminophen and diphenhydramine Hcl rapid release gelcaps which posseses more ease of swallobility, unique appearance and good drug release.
