ABSTRACT
Objective: To explore the phytochemical constituents of Sarrgassum wightii, Kappaphycus alvarezii and Ulva fasciata. Methods: The preliminary phytochemical assay performed by following the standard methods of Kokate. Results: The results of phytochemicals screening revealed the presence of carbohydrates, protein, tannins, phenol, flavonoids, anthocyanin, coumarins, steroids, saponin, glycosides, cardiac glycosides, terpenoids, triterpenoids, quinones, alkaloids and acids were detected in the Sargassum wightii, Kappaphycus alvarezii and Ulva fasciata. Conclusion: The solvent extracts of Sargassum wightii, Kappaphycus alvarezii and Ulva fasciata showed a number of secondary metabolites presence, further work will emphasis the
isolation and characterization of active principle responsible for bioefficacy and bioactivity.
Keywords: Phytochemicals, Sargassum wightii, Kappaphycus alvarezii and Ulva fasciata.
