ABSTRACT
Objective: Present study evaluates the antimicrobial activity of ethanolic extract of Tridax procumbens Linn. (T. procumbens) against clinical pathogens. Methods: Filter paper disc diffusion and agar well diffusion method was employed for determining the antimicrobial activity against yeast, mould and selected gram positive strain like staphylococcus and gram negative bacterial species like E.coli, pseudomonas aeroginosa, salmonella. Results: The extract was found effective against microbes and zone of inhibition against test organism for extract and standard and it was found to be effective as per the species used for the study respectively. Conclusions: The data obtained from the present study indicated that T. procumbens leaves can be used for treating diseases caused by the tested organisms.
