ABSTRACT
The present study was designed to investigate the preliminary FTIR analysis for the qualitative determination of bioactive compounds in Amorphophallus campanulatus decne tuber extracts. Initially dried powder of Amorphaphallus campanulatus tubers were extracted with chloroform and ethanol. The FTIR spectral analysis of chloroform extract confirmed the presence of different functional groups with a peak value of alkanes at 2924.72, carboxylic acid at 2924.72, aldehyde at 1640.81, halogen compound at1461.21, ether at 1159.79, alkene at 880.74, aromatic hydrocarbon at 717.89 and ethanolic extract with a peak value of aromatic hydrocarbon at 1585.14, phenols at 1399.4, Primary alcohol at 1055.5, Aromatic hydrocarbons at 925.22, halogen compounds at 672.88. The presence of these functional groups in tuber
extracts revealed its medicinal values.
