SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERISATION, AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF NOVEL PTHALAZINE DERIVATIVES

ABSTRACT

A series of new Pthalazine derivatives have been Synthesised in excellent yields. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectral studies. The new compounds (2 a– 2g) were tested for their antimicrobial activity. Variable and modest activities were observed against the investigated strains of bacteria and fungi. Compounds 2g, 2f demonstrated good antimicrobial activity against all the tested microbial strains.
