ABSTRACT
Dermatological problem has a big chunk in the incidence rate of the Indian healthcare system due to varying climate, socioeconomic and varied other risk factors. We here intended to study the clinical and pharmacology of steroids and antibiotics commonly prescribed by the Dermatological department in the hospital. In this prospective study, a total of 100 patients (70 males) (30 females) with considerations of age wise distribution, type of skin disease, duration of treatment, various dosage forms of antibiotics and steroids and its effect were studied with reference to the period of treatment. Various adverse effects were well documented based upon the type of dosage form administered. Of
which male 34 and female 15 of age group of 31-45 were highly affected compared to other age interval, dermatitis (with allergy and abcd) has highest number of incidence 24 male and 10 female patients. Systemic steroids and antibiotics were prescribed for 2-3 month and 1 week respectively; Topical antibiotics and steroids were prescribed for 3-4 weeks and 3-5 months respectively. In conclusion, we suggested the best Administration route for topical and route having less side effects.
