Epilepsy is a most common neurological disease. It is treated by anti-epileptic drugs such as phenytoin, clobazam, carbamazapine, levitiracetam, valproic acid etc. Exfoliative dermatitis caused by phenytoin is rare, but serious adverse drug reaction. After three months of Phenytoin therapy, a patient developed diffuse scaly lesions on the lower limbs, trunk, scalp, palms and soles, hyper keratotic plaques and pedal edema present. Immediately phenytoin was subsided and given oral corticosteroids, anti-histaminics, multi-vitamins, protein supplementation and liquid paraffin for the management of exfoliative dermatitis.
