ABSTRACT
Pthalazine nucleus has attracted attention of medicinal chemists, due to wide spectrum of biological activities exhibited by them. A series of new Pthalazine Sulfonamide-Tetrazole Derivatives have been Synthesised in excellent yields. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectral studies. The new compounds (8a– 8i) were tested for their antimicrobial activity. Variable and modest activities were observed against the investigated strains of bacteria and fungi. Compounds 8i, 8g, and 8f demonstrated good antimicrobial activity against all the tested microbial strains.
Keywords: 1, 4-dichloro Pthalazine, Tetrazoles, sulfonamides, [3+2] cyclo addition reactions, Synthesis, Anti-microbial activity.
