ABSTRACT
The present work describes a validated reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic method for simultaneous estimation of Montelukast Sodium (MTKS) and Levocetirizine HCl (LCH) in tablet formulation. Chromatography was performed on a Inertsil ODS C18 column (150 × 4.6 mm, 5μm particle size) column with mobile phase containing 0.05M Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (pH7.5 ± 1% using triethyl amine): Methanol (25:75). The flow rate was 0.8 ml/min and the eluent was monitored at 240 nm. The selected chromatographic conditions were found to effectively separate Montelukast Sodium (Rt- 4.660 min) and Levocetirizine HCl (Rt- 3.007 min). Linearity for
Montelukast Sodium and Levocetirizine HCl were found in the range of 50-300μg/ml and 25-150μg/ml respectively. The proposed method was found to be fast, accurate, precise and reproducible and can be used for simultaneous estimation of these drugs in tablet.
