ABSTRACT
A phytochemical study of freshwater algae Scenedesmus arcutus a live feed of Moina micrura (crustacean) were brought from central institute of brackish water (CIBA), cultured under laboratory condition were analysed. In laboratory microalgae Scenedesmus arcutus were cultured under Meyen medium. The present work was focused on identify organic analysis. Preliminary phytochemical organic analysis were performed on aqueous algal extract in which revealed metabolites like phytosterol, tannin, alkaloids, and saponin. All other metabolites like triterpenoids, flavanoids phenol and acids were absent. The present studies concluded that the active organic metabolities present
in microalgae were associated with their antibacterial activities and also best reference feed for zooplankton(Moina micrura). The results obtained from organic analysis were tabulated and discussed.
