ABSTRACT
In the present study an attempt has been made to establish FT-IR
profile and identify the functional components of Asparagus
racemosus. FTIR method was performed on a Thermo Scientific
Spectrophotometer system which was used to detect the characteristic
peak values and their functional groups. The results of Asparagus
racemosus roots FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of C-H bond
stretching, alkynes group, an aromatic ring, N-H bending at primary
anime, secondary amine stretching at secondary amine and alkenes
group stretching compounds which shows major peaks at 3429-3412
cm-1, 2359-2330 cm-1, 1967-1923 cm-1, 1398 cm-1, 1645-1568 cm-1 and
3149.86 cm-1 respectively. The results of the present study produced the FTIR spectrum
profile for the medicinally important plant Asparagus racemosus.
