ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the antioxidant activity of the isolated fractions
of crude ethanolic extract of Azima tetracantha. Methods: The crude
ethanolic extract of Azima tetracantha leaves was subjected to
chromatographic separation using column and thin layer
chromatographic techniques. All the fractions were screened for
antioxidant activity using DPPH assay in invitro. Results: The extract
yielded 15 component fractions. From which, fraction 32 (F32)
exhibited the most profound anti-oxidant activity.
Keywords: Azima tetracantha, Bioactivity guided isolation, Antioxidant, DPPH assay.
