DRAINAGE DENSITY OF REWA PLATEAU (M.P.) INDIA (A GEOGRAPHICAL AND MORPHOMETRIC-STREAM ANALYSIS)
Dr. Praveen Andrew Majeed*
ABSTRACT
Drainage density is one of the important elements which reflect the
area and relief aspects of the drainage basin as well as terrain as a
whole of the region. This element is very significant in the study of
MORPHOMETRIC STREAM ANALYSIS of drainage basin and
terrain characteristics, because these elements are related to the
dynamic nature of the network of the stream segments and the area of
basin (Singh S.1976, p.21).The increase or decrease of slope
corresponds to increase or decrease in drainage density, stream
frequency, whereas increase in slope corresponds to increase in fine
texture and gentle slope to coarse texture.
Keywords: Morphometric, frequency, texture, gradient.
