ABSTRACT
The objective of this present study was isolate the fungal strains from the plastic dumped soil samples and screen to isolate the fungal strains for laccase production by using guaiacol as a substrate. The samples were inoculated in the Czapex dox medium and total 2 fungal strains were isolated and used for further studies. The fungal strains were inoculated in the Czapex dox broth and analysed for laccase enzyme production. The extra cellular protein content of the liquid cultures was analysed. The results showed the ability of the fungal strains capable of producing laccase enzyme which can play a vital role in biodegradation of polymers.
