FAST AND SENSITIVE HPLC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ZOLPIDEM IN BULK AND FORMULATION

ABSTRACT
A simple, rapid, accurate, precise method has been developed for the
estimation of Zolpidem in bulk and formulation using reverse phase
high pressure liquid chromatography. The method was developed on
C18, HYPERSIL250 mm length, 4.6 mm inner diameter column in an
isocratic mode using mobile phase containing a ternary mixture of
ammonium acetate, methanol and acetonitrile. (30:45:25, v/v/v) The
flow rate and detection wavelength were 1.0ml/min and 248nm
respectively. The retention time of the drug was found to be 3.05min and the method
produced was linear in the concentration range of 30-90 μg/ml.
