ABSTRACT
The synthesis of two series of substituted pyrazole derivatives (4)-(7)
and (10)-(13) has been achieved by reaction of chalcones of
pyrozolone (3) and (9) with hydrazine hydrate, phenyl hydrazine,
semicarbezide and thiosemicarbezide under microwave irradiation in
various reaction conditions. The structures of the synthesized
compounds were assigned on the basis of IR and 1H NMR analysis.
These targeted compounds have been screened for their antibacterial
and antifungal activities using Broth dilution method and compared
with standard drug ampicillin for antibacterial activity and griseofulvin
for antifungal activity. Compounds (4), (5), (10), (11) and (12) have
shown higher antibacterial activities while (4), (5), (6), (7), (10), (11)
and (12) have shown higher antifungal activities.
Keywords: Ethylacetoacetate, Chalcones, Pyrazolone, Antibacterial activity, Antifungal activity.
