ABSTRACT
Objective: The aim of the present research work is to validate
analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity of Novel (Fixed Dose)
Topical gel containing Diclofenac Combination with Heparin.
Methods: In the current study rodents were used to demonstrate the
analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of Diclofenac combination
with heparin, in investigation of therapeutic treatment for diseases with
pain and inflammation. Wister albino rats are used in paw edema
method and Swiss albino mice for formalin induced paw licking
method. Results: The present study of formalin induced paw licking
method of analgesic activity, using Swiss albino mice shows 24.68 ±
2.5 in Ist phase of the study in between 0-5 minutes of interval compared to Std as 26.81 ±
3.14. In second phase the test formulation gives 6.5 ± 0.48 in 15-30 minutes while comparing
with the Std 7.2 ±1.3. In anti- inflammatory activity of Wister albino rats for Carrageenan
induced Paw edema method results in 95% in 2 hrs and 100% in 4 hrs while comparing with
Std. 77% and 93%. Conclusion: The results of the current study reveal that the combination
of diclofenac with heparin Fixed dose combination proves significant analgesic and antiinflammatory
activity.
