A REVIEW ON ZIZIPHUS NUMMULARIA: VALUABLE MEDICINAL PLANT OF DESERT

ABSTRACT
Ziziphus nummularia, commonly known as Jharber, a member of the
family Rhamnaceae, is used traditionally in treatment of cold, mental
retardation, in dysentery, diarrhoea, fever, burns and colic. It is also
used in ulcers, wound healing, pharyngitis, bronchitis, anaemia,
irritability, hysteria and as a nervine tonic. In present paper detailed
taxonomic description, illustration, photographs and its ethnomedicinal
uses are discussed.
