ABSTRACT
Ascorbic acid-Loaded Microspheres were prepared by phaseseparation coacervation technique. The aim of this work was to investigate the micromeritic properties for prepared microspheres and incorporate the results with the uniformity of size and shape of microspheres and also its flow property. The obtained values of tapped and bulk density of microspheres shows that the sample product has uniform of particle size with more spherical shapes. Compressibility index and Hausner ratio are indirect measures of bulk density, size and shape, surface area, moisture content and cohesiveness of microspheres. According to USP 28-NF 23 criteria if the microspheres showed good flow characteristics means, it should have Hausner ratio less than 1.18 and percentage of compressibility less than 15. In consideration of compressibility index and Hausner ratio of prepared sample of microspheres were appeared less predominant in flow ability.Characterizing the flow property, angle of repose values of all microspheres did not exceed 30-35 and the microspheres were accepted as free-flowing. The prepared microspheres have 41 of angle of repose and it indicates it has passable flow property.
