ABSTRACT
Peptides and its derivatives demonstrate a diverse array of biological activities. A series of N-2-(benzoylamino)-3-(substituted phenyl-1-oxo-2-propenyl) dehydro serines (C1-10) / dehydro threonines (D1-10) were synthesized by stirring of dipeptides of serine and threonines with mesyl chloride in methylene chloride in the presence of triethylamine. The chemical stuctures of synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1HNMR. All the compounds screened for anti inflammatory and antioxidant activities. Among all 4-isopropyl derivatives A7, B7 have shown significant excellent anti inflammatory activity. In dehydro serines syringaldehyde derivative (A8) showed highest NO scavenging
activity. In dehydro threonines 4-methyl derivative (B5) showed significant activity in scavenging of nitric oxide.
