ABSTRACT
The aim of present work was to be formulate a nanoemulgel for topical delivery of poor water soluble drug ketoconazole which is useful in treatment of fungal infection. In ketoconazole Nanoemulgel formulation cabopol 934 and cabopol 940 gelling agents used. Prepared nanoemulgel was investigated for different parameters. The prepared nanoemulgel was evaluated for their physical appearance, viscosity, drug release, globule size, scanning electron microscopy and stability. The highest activity was observed in F3 and F4 which was based on cabopol 934 where the drug release was found to be 92.56±0.23 and 92.56±0.23 respectively at 360 min. by diffusion-controlled mechanism. Also it was found that the emulsifying agent
concentration has the most pronounced effect on drug release from nanoemulgel followed by oil phase concentration. Stability studies showed no major alteration in all parameters. In general conclusion these formed nanoemulgel satisfied all pharmaceutical parameter and appears to be good topical agent.
