EFFECT OF THE TYROSINE AMMONIA LYASE ON HYPERPIGMENTATION
Sneha Madichetti and Guruprasad R.*
ABSTRACT Tyrosine ammonia lyase (TAL) is an enzyme required for transforming L – Tyrosine into p – Coumaric acid. The objective of the experiment is to extract TAL from Epipermnum aureum to treat hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is a clinical condition resulting from accumulation of melanin in the epidermal cells. Firstly, the separation of proteins was done using an organic solvent, acetone. In the second step the presence of the enzyme was confirmed by the formation of p-coumaric acid which was detected by using UV-Visible spectrophotometer at 410nm. The activity of enzyme was enhanced by certain compounds extracted from Jasminun grandiflorum. Keywords: TAL, Hyperpigmentation, GC-MS. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
