HARNESSING THE NEUTRACEUTICAL POTENTIAL OF DATE FRUITS

ABSTRACT
The present investigation was performed to harness the potentialities of date fruit to analyze zahidi (Yellow coloured) and khuneizi (Red coloured) varieties of date palm fruit for neutraceutical values. The assessment regarding neutraceuticals contents of fresh date fruits (doka stage) revealed a significant amount of flavanoids (3.26-4.67 CEQ/100g), Total phenolic content (212.53-224.53 mg GAE/100g) and Total antioxidant activity by DPPH assay (39.43-44.48%).
