ABSTRACT
The present work reports the effect of P. hysterophorus leaf phytoconstituents (flavonoids, phenolics, tannin and phytic) as DNA protection assay. These Phytochemicals are proved as potent anticancerous and antioxidant capacity. Dried leaf samples were extracted with methanol fraction showed noticeable amount of these phytochemicals. On evaluating the effect of these phytochemicals as DNA protective assay, damaged caused in vitro using Fenton’s reagent. Present study showed the increasing concentration of methanolic extract causes protective effect on DNA damage. So from
this finding we concluded that P. hysterophorus leaf have considerable phytoconstituents which can be considered as valuable asset as nutraceuticals ingredients for treatment of various diseases.
