Abstract

A REVIEW ON THYROID GLAND AND RELATED DISORDERS

ABSTRACT

In the present paper, we review about the thyroid gland which is one of the examples of endocrine system. The endocrine system and endocrine organs, like the thyroid, undergo important functional changes. The prevalence of thyroid disorders increases with numerous morphological and physiological changes of the thyroid gland. In this, we review on the thyroid gland structure, and the hormones related or released by the thyroid gland, the thyroid evaluation, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, including their sign and symptoms, thyroid carcinoma and goiter.
