Ã¢â‚¬Å“DIRECTUS 1.0: MAKING ANALYSIS SIMPLEÃ¢â‚¬Â A UNIQUE AMALGMATION OF GENETIC DISORDER DATABASE WITH SEQUENCE ANALYSIS TOOLS

ABSTRACT

'Directus' is a web based specially designed software which encompasses the basic needs of a Bioinformatician during analysis of primary sequences. Directus has been designed and created by using PERL, PERL-CGI, and HTML coding in Dreamweaver. This unique software can be used for computing various parameters used in NUCLEOTIDE ANALYSIS, AMINO ACID RESIDUES, and READING FRAMES. Directus, comes with its own specialized database on GENETIC DISORDERS. This database besides providing details about any particular genetic disorder also provides information about the type of mutation and the chromosome being affected by the respective genetic disorder. The current version comes with more than fifteen analysis tools and provides an overall picture of more than fifty genetic disorders. The next releasing versions will come with databases about viral infection databases, eye disorders databases etc. and also the analysis tools will increase to PRIMER designing tools etc.
