ABSTRACT The present investigation reported on antifungal activity of five hydroxytriazenes, a Schiff’s base and their ternary complexes of Zinc (II) against Curvularia lunata and Helminthosporium turcicum. The fungi Curvularia lunata causing disease in leaf spots and seedling blight. It is also seen on castor beans, cotton, rice, barley, wheat, corn and the fungi Helminthosporium turcicum seen on Leaf Blight in corn and characterized by large cigar shaped necrotic lesions that develop on the leaves. The results have been expressed as percentage inhibition (PI) of mycelial growth as well as sclerotium formation at 100 ppm for ligands as well as zinc (II) ternary complexes. The results show that PI value in hydroxytriazenes and their complexes are very high. The results have been interpreted in terms of theory of drug action proposed by Paton. Keywords: Schiff’s base, castor beans, cotton, rice, barley. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
